Municipal Election
Chances are high that your name is no longer on the voting registry.
The voting registry has been moved from MPAC to Elections Ontario and in the process, the not all data has been retained
(In North Kawartha alone, the count of Seasonal Residents dropped from 7,055 in 2022 to 2,120 in 2026. It’s probably safe to say that almost 5000 cottagers have not abandoned their cottages or become permanent residents)
You need to take action to get back on registry.
Multiple pieces of ID are required. It’s not a fool proof process.
I’ve taken one stab at it, been rejected, because I missed a document, and need to try again…

Bat Boxes
Where do the boxes go?
Affixed 10-20 feet above the ground on a building wall or wooden pole, ideally facing the southeast to get at least 6-8 hours of sunlight/day. Bats need lots of space in front of the box to fly in it successfully.
When to order? Any time this summer, they are made to order and sold through Bancroft Stewardship Council;
